(January 2026) ssz.neocities.org update log:
1.Index: Added a starfield background that produces random-colored stars.
2.Math Marines: Added a keypad and adjusted its position.
3.Synthonico: Adjusted ABC notation conversion to produce more stable files. Added to Math Marines, so that A and D keys now cause a simulated strafe movement.
4.Synthonico: Increased maxpoly from 16 to 128 in Synthonico. Max poly allows more effects at once.
5.Letters: Created a theoretical model of the universe (Light Liquid model). An ongoing project.
(February 2026)
6.Designeer: Added Canvas Size function to Designeer. Now users can change the size to whatever they want.
7.Synthonico: Reverted to an older version and tweaked many settings to provide a more stable app.
8.NEw Video Variator: Veditor is a prototype for a web app that lets you edit videos.
9.NEw Time Tabulator: Added a new web app called Time Tabulator. A stopwatch / timer for now. Has potential to be a loop machine, added synchronized global playback for all timers.
10.Time Tabulator: Updated the layout for Time Tabulator and polished some of the current functions. Added new tones tap and tok.
11.Index: Added music to the homepage (Star-topia). Also began to add preset instruments to Synthonico now users have ready to go synths.
12.Index: Created a function to fade gif images in and out if the user plays music by pressing the play button at the top. Added an else if statement to allow for custom gif arrays for each song. Uploaded gifs and set some arrays. It's almost like making music videos.
13.Time Tabulator: Added a Trigger After function. Allows the user to trigger other timers within the timer. Easy and accurate time loops for drums or any sound file.
(March 2026)
14.Synthonico: Added the first fully sampled synth to Synthonico. With these instruments each key plays a separate sample. The original instruments use one sample and shift the frequency to create the tones but result in shorter duration high notes. The new instruments eliminate that problem and turn Synthonico into a more robust application.
15.Synthonico: Flushed out a few bugs related to the new instruments with libraires. Synthonico is now ready to accept sample libraries from MIDI 24-84 even though the hotkeys are not that many. I have a new idea on the way that will setup buttons for each key on the keyboard and allow users to upload any sample they want to individual buttons anywhere on the keyboard (to be continued).
16.Index: Rearranged the structure of the website for organization so most page paths changed. Glad I did this early though.
17.NEw Audio Adjusto: Allows for audio file editing and export.
18.Video Variator: Went ahead and added Veditor to the index links. I have so many apps now, they cover so much ground. Some of them are really shaping into useful software.
19.Audio Adjusto: Added risers to Audio Adjusto. Provide a lifting effect over a period of time using high and low pass filters.
20.Index: Added a passing gif script to the index that causes a gif to fly-by every so often.
21.Designeer: Tweaked so that when dragging, with basic tools, beyond the canvas it still allows for end points. This way the stroke doesn't end abruptly at the edge.
22.Video Variator: Scale and move. Now users can scale and position clips independently and add them to the timeline. Also added an export option to up or down scale the exported video.
23.Video Variator: Added Extract Audio and Frames to Video Variator. Organized the UI for Audio Adjustor and caused it to clear the control fields during each Apply Edit so users start with fresh controls each edit. Added a how to link for Synthonico to keep track of tips and tricks I figure out.
24.Video Variator: Added mp4 export to Video Variator. (chrome / edge)
25.Text Forge: Changed Text Forge so that if a user saves a file, it prompts the location each time.
26.Audio Adjusto: Risers now transition in and out of existence instead of just abruptly starting or ending. Users can now input whatever time they want in zone editing controls, and it will prompt if the end is before the start.
27.New Gif Galvanizer: Added a helper script to render them. Needs a folder of images to work.
28.Text Forge: Added an escape path for elements that trapped the cursor otherwise. Adds a | character to the end of elements that otherwise would of trapped the cursor.
29.Text Forge: The horizontal line tool now prompts for size, width and alignment.
30.Video Variator: The volume setting of clips added to the timeline should now translate to exports.
31.Index: Layout altered to create a curve in the app links, gif reel container size increased to 300x300px
32.Gif Galvanizer: Preview never auto plays now. Added, delete current frame in preview button. Added, remove every other frame button. Added, interpolate function that blends the current frame to the next. Added, individual frame delay rates.
33.Video Variator: The transform controls at the top now move the video a generous amount. Key-binds still work, 1px and at time for fine control. Added reverse function, users can now reverse clips in the timeline and it translates to export, no audio in reversed clips right now.
34.Video Variator: Added seek buttons to frame forward or back in the preview, hotkeys still work.
35.Video Variator: Added control to allow clips to be moved within the timeline. Tweaked UI and fonts.
36.Designeer: Adjusted the control panel some and added titles to the buttons. Added a custom info modal that can hold more info.
37.Audio Adjusto: Removed Frequency (couldn't get it to function how I wanted yet) and replaced it with Riser Polarity, now users can choose if the riser will climb then fall or fall then climb.
38.Video Variator: Reverted the code back to before I added reverse. The export method is not built for reverse and using math and code produced too many artifacts or slowdowns. Overhauled the UI and established a more stable build.
39.Designeer: Added zoom buttons.
40.Synthonico: Users can now trim the front of instrument samples by .01 instead of .05
41.Video Variator: Added Insert Blank frame and Advanced Move. Now users can insert blank frames for between fades and achieve begin and end fades this way. Advanced move allows a clip or a range of clips to be moved across the timeline with one jump.
42.Synthonico: Added Bend Ease control. Now users can cause bends to ease into existence, and it sounds great.
43.Video Variator: Overhauled fade in and out controls and functions, they work much better now on my end, only a small blip in audio during transition. Now that they work well enough I can sort them out and add other controls later for easier use. Also added a readout that shows what clip is playing currently.
44.Designeer: Added a new tool called Divider Beam. Gives divisible, equal, markers along its path or even custom lengths.
45.Designeer: Added Dot: tool that adds a customizable dot at the pointer for reference.
46.Designeer: Users can now save Etcha Stamps they create as text files and then reload them later. This allows for custom shapes of any type to be reused and users can build a library of them for themselves.
47.Video Variator: Added save and load. Users can now save their timeline as a txt document and then import that data back into the app.
48.Index: Starfield now has quadruple the number of stars. Tweaked star speed and presentation.
49.Designeer: Users can now increase or decrease the number of sides on the Octagon Stamp.
50.Designeer: Stamp sequencer tool now accepts rotation inputs and uses the letter x for draw at that position in the sequence. Now users can create advanced organic shapes and patterns just by pasting a pattern into the sequencer.
51.Designeer: Etcha Stamp now allows users to move without drawing by toggling the capslock key on or off. Changed Etcha Stamp preview indicator to be a red dot.
52.Designeer: B key now acts just like mouse1 when possible.
53.Text Forge: Overhauled UI and added a title text.
54. Text Forge: Added a list fabricator control. Allows users to build a list of numbers down the page and assign a custom margin.
55. Video Variator: Added volume effect so users can adjust timeline clip levels on the fly.
56. Video Variator: Fixed (I think) a issue during fade ins where it would show a bright frame first.
57. Designeer: Added Save / Load drawing function. Now users can save the actual strokes of their drawings and reload them to edit again later. Using custom built functions that save and transform stroke data into txt files and then re-renders it fully (or at least mostly) upon load. Eraser data is not saved currently (coming soon) but this was a big win for Designeer. Now users can save Etcha Stamps to create custom shape libraries as well as save the entire drawing.
58. Video Variator: Tweaked a function preventing frame extraction.
59. Video Variator: Timeline and preview playback should work fine now after extracting audio.
60. Synthonico: I created a multi-sample library instrument called Synthonico Banjo. It's the first multi sample library to be created with Synthonico. I used a royalty free Banjo instrument from the list of guitars and applied effects. Recorded each note with Synthonico and then clipped their durations. I used this range 48,50,52,55,57,59,60,62,64,65,69,72 although I should have made a few lower ones, Synthonicos default scale runs from 36-72, but Synthonico transposes the ones between, so you don't need all of them. I uploaded the library to the site and added the button for it so anyone could use it. Any user could do this and load them from their computer using the Custom button, eliminating the need to download them. For this reason, I can limit the extend of the provided instruments and users can simply use their own libraries. This was my first multi-sample (or even sample) that I ever made myself. I learned some things here. Mainly, effects can be transferred directly to a new instrument eliminating the need for Synthonico to process those effects to acquire that particular sound. This allows a user to layer effects onto samples and reduce processing demands, if they were to be so diligent in creating their own.
61. Designeer: The Save / Load drawing function would stop whenever a user had used erasers. I removed eraser activity from save files for now to preserve all others.
62. Synthonico: Added Echo Effect. New effect has alot of potential and currently is moderately stable. The issue becomes that there are so many functions in Synthonico that creating a add that flows seamlessly is complex.
63. Synthonico: Echo now has two modes regular and Heavenly. The regular mode requires a long Release time to be set for the sample or introduces artifacts (still working on it). However, with a long release time set it works fine. Another mode has been added called Heavenly it causes all echoes to use the main sample file full duration for falloff calculation regardless of Release settings.
64. Synthonico: Corrected a issue with Guitar Synth Mode and mismatched notes.
65. Synthonico: Most of the controls that have number readouts can now be altered at a rapid pace by clicking the number and dragging up or down.
66. Video Variator: Adjusted transitions to eliminate blips between clips in the timeline (its better at least).
67. Synthonico: Added a save and load state function that saves the current state of all controls and any sequencer input as a text file for users on their computer. They can then load that file and restore all settings. Echo Time can now be adjusted by .001 seconds.
68. Synthonico: Toggling reverb on should create much less of a drop in volume now. Adjusted Chorus to be more stable under heavy load (still testing).
69. Designeer: Added a new control that allows users to upload an image and use it like a stamp. Save drawing fully captures image files as a base64 string. If many images are used files sizes will grow as well and may reach the limit. I tested it using 55 images that were 4k resolution originally. I pasted them as the default stamp size (reduced) into a 4096 x 4096 size canvas. The total save file size was around 220mb and it still loaded fine.
70. Designeer: Added a transparent background option.
71. Synthonico: Added new control for Echo Time Cycle. Alows users to automatically sweep the Echo time setting back and forth. This can create varied results of which I have not tested. Setting the echo time to .008 and echo decay to 4, Echo time cycle speed to .1HZ and the time cycle range to .008, can create a flanger like effect that also produces harp like resonance but requires a faster pace of playing. while it's not a official flanger effect, it can create a combination of effects which are most akin to a flanger when tuned right.
72. Synthonico: Added hotkeys numberpad + and numberpad - now manual slide. Insert and delete keys still work as well.
